Meet The Team

I have been attending The Gate for the last three years, and I have enjoyed getting to know staff and other youth in our community. I have been on the leadership team previously and, now that I’m a Senior, I wanted to enhance my leadership skills to grow in my personal goals. Also, I really enjoy being involved at The Gate—whether volunteering at events or just hanging out and having fun

I have been going to the gate for awhile and it's a place that makes you feel heard and a good place to go to hang out with friends, play sports, eat food and just chill. I joined the gate leadership team because I wanted to help with the events and it's fun to know what's going on around the gate

I have been going to the gate for two years now and its a very fun place where i can go to hang out with my friends, eat food and just have a mini vacation where i don't have to worry about the other crazy things in my life. Hi! My name is Brenda. I grew up in Independence, and I am in the 9th grade at Central. I have been coming to The Gate since I was in the 7th grade. I enjoy coming here because I like meeting new people and hanging out with the staff. I joined The Gate leadership team because I thought it would be another fun way to be apart of The Gate.

Hi my name is Jason and I am 14 years old I went to the gate roughly  3 years ago  it was  awesome being their making more friends. So I decided to join the leadership team because I feel like I was part of the gate. I joined it cause there is a lot of people that are in need in the town, city, state (etc).

Hi my name is Tyler and I have been going to the gate for tree years now and I went just to have fun and I meet the staff and I couldn't stop going

The gate has impacted me in a lot of ways I've met my Best Friends there and it has helped me through ups and downs and always gives me a place to beat somebody in basketball I decided to join leadership so I can prove to people I can be an employee someday I enjoy youth groups /playing games and hanging out with friends.

​The gate has been a place where if I need to get away from everything, I can go and be guaranteed a good time. I decided to join leadership so I can help wherever I can. I really enjoy the wide variety of things to do. Videogames, music, and physical activity.

I have been going to The Gate for a couple of years now. l used to go in the morning to do exercise games with my homeschool group, and then I would go to open gym night to play basketball. It is fun to go hangout and play sports and games with other kids. I joined the leadership team because I want to learn how to work well with others as a leader
